The article contains comparative analysis of encyclicals of the Popes: Gregory XVI, Pius IX, Leon XIII, Pius XI, John Paul II and Augustins work City of God. State in the Christian space are being found in the focus of attention of this article. It is commanding, that City of God Augustine is a foundation for encyclicals.
